good theory but why would a Faceless man train a lord's daughter? And where would NEd get the money to do that?

He could be on a mission... he say's once Ayra named a man , it maybe soon or a year from now ... I think they wait for the right opertunity . . . That was possibly someone who was heading over to train Arya and he is no more... does that make sense ?

Speaking of what are the chances of getting Tom back for Balon's death scene.

Oh we can have a quick looking back scene where his face becomes Tom's again.

Would someone be kind enough to explian this to me, please.
How can Dalla and Val be merged into one character? If Val would be Mance's wife that would mean:
1. Gilly would not be nursing her son. Ok, let's say we could get around that and still have the baby swap. Number 2 remains though, which is...
2. Stannis sees in Val a way to bind the wildlings to his cause. He wants to seal a pact between a northern lord (loyal to him and who can command the other northern houses) and the wildlings through marriage. Val is perfect for him because she's viewed as a wildling princess, but is unattached. If Val was Mance's wife that couldn't be possible, for R'hllor's sake. I really don't see Stannis thinking that he could or should simply dissolve their marriage and offer her to somebody else. One could argue that he might, once he thinks Mance is dead, but Melisandre knows the truth - having sent Mance to Winterfell. It just feels to me like merging the two would only complicate things, instead of simplifying them - they can always have Dalla as a featured extra, she dies shortly after anyway.

I don't think they will be merged, some fan probably spoke before thinking. It's like when that piece announced the actress who played Selise Florent and said she would do some heavy running.

I'm finding more and more reasons why the characters can't be merged. I seriously doubt they will be.

When reading over on WiC... I just thought , Dalla is so unimportant (bless her) that an extra could easily play her. Cooking in the tent and giving birth? that's bout it isn't it? But she needs to be there for the reasons Macha stated.

The meaning of "the prince that was chosen" and the whole royal bloodlines has been poorly introduced, barely mentioned and downplayed in the Tv show, thats why we didnt get an Edric Storm at Dragonstone.

With some clever writing the Val/Dalla merge can happen, or Dalla gets omitted entirely.

Thank you for reminding me of that ... I'd forgotten they have played down a lot of sub plots ...

As a woman is reading ASOS again, it appears that there are a lot of little sub-plots that could be used to flesh out some of the main characters in between some of the more major events. It is pretty cool that, even though so many have read the books, we still have a sense of mystery surrounding which events will be featured in S3 and which will be delayed until S4 because of the interesting chronology of the books. It is my opinion that Val will stay separate from Dalla, and Dalla will be a featured extra since her part is really limited but important as we know.

Just finished Chapter Jon II. I am left the question of whether there are sufficient elephants in Iceland already or will they have to fly them in?

For the mammoths? I'm not so sure we'll even see mammoths in S3. I imagine they could have Jon in Mance's camp while still leaving the mammoths out, and only create them for the Battle at the Wall in S4. Mance's camp is huge and very spread out anyway. Also, I'm no specialist, but I think the mammoths might be easier to create than the direwolves: elephants are easier to work with than wolves, and - because of the way the battle is fought - they wouldn't need that much detail. They can show them in the distance, and avoid having scenes that would involve close combat.

I just hope they slow down a bit. One thing I noticed in season two was the breakneck pace it went from location to location, from character to character. They really busted their ass fitting " A Clash Of Kings" in a single season and I could feel the crunch.

I am relieved they split book 3 over 2 seasons, It should help in that regard.

The Giants are huge, hairy like apes, with really long legs, long faces with matted fur, that sounds like bigfoot to me.

Yeah that's why I'm hping the PW doesn't make it until season 4, they have the opportunity to really slow down the story so that we can emotionally catch up.

Wonderful discovery, I think the series can certainly benefit from concentrating on more visually awarded acheivements. This genre doesn't lend itself well (despite Dinklage's Emmy) to awards in writing, directing, and performances.

Yes, just listened to that podcast with Vanessa Taylor and she was very clever to give us a nibble without giving the whole cookie away.

I think they learned a lot during season 2, and should see those lessons carry over to season 3/4.
WiC even posted an article how filming is ahead of schedule this year.

I just hope they learned that changing story lines to flesh out certain characters isn't always a good thing, I'm looking at you Jon Snow, looking at you!

Nice find, Lady.  I like S1 better in the fact that we are introduced to many main characters and minor ones in depth.  S2 was great, no mistake, however, yeah, seemed really rushed as if there would be no S3.

So, in light of the recently revealed news that Talisa is not Jeyne Westerling, but Martin's hesitation in the interview and insinuation that she has some reason to be there; I propose the theory that Talisa will be involved somehow in the recovery of Catelyn's body and/or resurrection of Lady Stoneheart.

But why would we need Talisa for that if we already have Beric and Thoros?

I'm going with the idea that they're not going to make her as unpleasant looking as she seems in the book (as per Tyrion's scar) and therefore will not be dead as long as in the books.

It appears that a woman's previous post did not work. Just read the chapter about UnCat, and Nymeria drags her out of the water, Arya sees it in a dream. Suspect that she will be less gruesome to look at on TV than described in the book, but still should look traumatized and wounded seriously.

I never thought they were going to have a noseless Tyrion on the show, simply because the make-up process would have taken much longer, and they'd have to use visual effects as well, you know the drill. UnCat will not have as many scenes, but there is no way they'll go for the exact description as in the books, that would be way too gruesome. I actually can't wait to see how Michelle Fairley will look, though I'm dreading it as well. Now that will definitely put the viewers in shock, I don't even know if I want the ressurection scene to be on-screen or not.

Regarding the UnCat scenario, a woman thinks it would be cool if they show that Arya is dreaming of Nymeria finding her mother (thinking she's dead), running off as men on horses approach, and we see the BWB reviving her. A woman wants to see that scene unfold, however they do it, even if from afar, want to see Nymeria snarl and defend Cat's body against the smaller wolves, want to see her drag it out of the water. It shows that the wolves remember their "home pack," it's important. We shall see.

What was so awful and brilliant was the Arya chapters as she was heading to the Red Wedding, thinking she would finally be reunited with her mother. As you are read you are like "Yes! Finally a happy reunion!"

Then George goes NOOOOOPE!!

Okay, I'm at the point in the book that Oberyn Martell appears. This is well in advance of the Red Wedding which we're pretty certain that is / has already been filmed, by the rumor about a huge crowd of people in wedding garb in Northern Ireland--which would certainly not be Tyrion and Sansa's wedding. So will they cast the Red Viper this season?

Boy I hope so, but character appearances in the book don't always match with the show, remember the Reeds?

If Oberyn was cast, we would have heard about it, me thinks. I think they'll keep all the Martells for S4, Oberyn wouldn't have that much to do until Joffrey's death and I'll say this until my last breath, there is absolutely no way they're going to squeeze all weddings in one season.

Re: GRRM episode "Autumn storms"

I count three chapters that are clearly taking place in rainy conditions, and it looks like they fall along the same time frame as I would expect them.

Arya: The Hound returns to the Brotherhood to demand his gold that they took from him.
Bran: Arrives at the Queens Tower
Jon: The escape from the Wildlings

Dany's arrival at Yunkai takes place within all this too, and could definitely qualify as being an "Autumn storm" :)

Still think the Dany Yunkai thing will happen in the last episode. Quite an epic moment to end a season on. Think Autumn Storms will set up the RW episode.
