I am a fan, though I feel the quality has dropped a bit in the writing, the acting remains top notch.

Lets see what they do this season!

I 've only seen last season and found it predictable and boring. I picked up " Showtime "
Premium Cable Channel because I wanted to catch a few movies that would not air
on HBO. I believe YvyB gets Sky Channel or cable , dunno what Aegon, Macha or the
Warden receives.

I really enjoy "Homeland" starring Claire Danes and the crazy Irish American family
starring William H. Macy as an alcoholic.

I spent oct of my time chasing Dr Who or Torchwood re-runs, even gwtting up a 2 am
to watch. What a first class idiot-savant/ Nerd I am.

I will invest in Apple TV for Netflix broadcasts soon. Just as soon as my budget
normalizes. I need a few more $$ gold dragons to complete my setup.

@Wildseed, I cant just start watching a show in the middle, that would drive me nuts.

The first 4 seasons were great, the last ones not so much but when you have been with the characters for so long you tend to stick around. At least I do.

Wow, it's been airing for that long ? no wonder furious . With the exception of the Wm H Macy sitcom, all other

shows I've caught on Showtime are first season series ( Homeland and 1 or 2 others ). Starting in the Middle

isn't usually a great move  I''d agree, however as a viewer stumbles onto a series unheard of before it's not

quite the viewer's fault. As a few people have mentioned Breaking Bad, I'm eager to order those seasons once

my Netflix gets set up. Joshua Taylor said he'd send me a bottle of Dornish Red if I don't like it aww.

With Dr Who and Torchwood , I started many generations later than YvyB and I absolutely love it and follow w/o

any diffficulty. I've figured out much with each episode and can go up against most Whovians. I'm a Timey

Wimey officianado. Many of the core subjects are actual physics and aeronautical stuff which strike home for me.

Again with Dexter, it's too bad the show is going downhill. I really enjoyed watching the lead actor in Six Feet

Under, an older series he starred in. ( Anthony Michael Something ).

The freakish hilarity of seeing the High Commander from Third Rock from the Sun being the Trinity killer in season 4.

Haha Her death was spoiled for me just like Ned's, I knew she was gonna die at some point but did not know when and how. It seemed she was not popular with Dexter fans and she was written off she show.

Heh, how about Dexter's sister? She might just have the foulest mouth I've ever seen on a woman. LOL

I actually liked Rita, it's a good thing Dexter can't feel, cause I keep thinking about her dying alone cause of Dexter and I feel guilty!
I like her, she's really funny when she has an epiphany

The new season got off with a bang, some nice plot development and seems the writers are less inclined to jerk the audience around.

The new season opener was pretty good, I'm intrigued so far. The cats are out of the bag.

I enjoyed the first episode of season 8 despite my urge to tear my hair out whenever Deb appeared on screen.

Al, in all honesty I forgot it began. I am two episodes in and I am liking it. Less trash and more character moments.

She is the main killer, mark my words.

Glad I am not the only person who suspects Vogal to be taking Dexter for a ride.

Ugh, this show has really gone down the crapper. But its the last season and I hope they manage to end it somewhat decently.

When you compare the pace and structuring of Dexter's final season to Breaking Bad's there is a massive gulf in class, this season just feels like another regular one to me.

Yup, no stakes. No tension, new characters are dead-ends.
The only thing that keeps me going is my curiosity to see how it all ends.

Not much else.

Yeah that's pretty much the only reason to keep watching now. It's ashame to see such a great show like Dexter decline like this but that's what happens when you go on for too long, you run out of steam.

I am beginning to think five or six seasons is a really good number for cable shows, The Wire for example went on for the right amount of time. Even Mad Men is beginning to feel stale now.

I do worry about GOT's future, even though they have the amazing source material to fall back on I struggle to see them overcoming fatigue and keeping people interested. We'll see, I think it's got a better shot of surviving because of the rich world and intriguing characters George created.

Starting to get a little frustrated now. That ending just felt rushed and out of the blue.

This show and Breaking Bad are both ending, and while every scene in Breaking Bad lead to more tension, working towards a finale. Dexter is kinda flopping around, if you didn't know this was a finale season, you would think this was some mid-season duldrum.
